What to Do If Fraud Happens to You
In your time of crisis the Heritage Family Credit Union would like to make things as easy as possible by providing clear and simple information. The five steps listed below are what you need to do when you are a victim of Identity theft.
1. Put a Fraud Alert On Your Credit Report.

2. Keep a Log of All Conversations related to your Identity Fraud Case such as:
• Dates
• Names of people you spoke with
• Telephone numbers of the agencies you called
• The Time you spent on each conversation
• Expenses incurred
3. Close Cards That May Have Been Tampered With or Have Fraudulent Charges.
4. File a Police Report with Your Local Police and Get a Copy of The Report or The Report number so you can give it to your creditors and others that may require proof of the crime.
5. Your Final Step is to Report the Crime to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
