After many months of historic uncertainty, I think it’s about time we get back to normal. But before we do, I just want to take a quick moment to say THANK YOU. Thank you to our members for your patience, understanding and support during those trying times. And thank you to my staff for taking such great care of all of you! They assisted hundreds of small businesses in our region with PPP loans, the mortgage department hit record numbers, thousands of members received payment relief, and in general thank you to them for being on the frontline, doing whatever was needed, to get through this ordeal.
Over the next several months, be on the lookout because events are back; including hot dog and ice cream days at several branches, sponsorships of community events like the upcoming Parade of Heroes, paying tribute to front line and essential workers and this Fall’s Whoopie Pie Fest celebrating the Rutland Region, all presented by HFCU. I hope you will be able to take part in some of these community events as we continue to return to normal.

While we still have challenges in front of us, we’ve weathered the storm so to speak, and are in good financial shape. Speaking of being in good shape, we want all of our members to be in good shape, both physically AND financially. That’s why this summer, I am challenging our staff to work with our members to review your account relationships to see if we can make your life a little bit easier by saving you money, time or making things a little bit more convenient for you. Spending a few minutes with our financial advocates will certainly be worthwhile, either confirming your finances are in good shape, or finding out we can help you do a little bit better.

Lastly, for those that have visited branches lately, you’ve probably noticed that staffing has been challenging. As with other businesses, it’s been very difficult to find qualified individuals that want to work. We have numerous openings at all experience levels waiting to be filled. If you know of anyone looking to start a good career, please have them check out our careers section on our webpage:

Be well and best wishes,

Matt Levandowski

Brandon Ribbon Cutting PhotoOur New Brandon Branch is Open!

Heritage Family Credit Union opened the doors to our new Brandon branch on June 1, with an official Grand Opening held on June 15.

The new branch, located just south of town at 1340 Franklin Street, offers ample parking, drive-thru services and a drive-up ATM. As our business continues to grow in the Brandon area, we felt we needed to provide our members with additional services and easier access to our facilities.

Wendy and the staff in Brandon are looking forward to seeing our members in Brandon and the surrounding communities, and assisting with all your financial needs.

HFCU is aiming to lease our original Brandon location in the former fire house. In addition to our new location, the ATM in the lobby of the old branch remains operational for the convenience of our members.

Set Travel Alerts for Your Summer Journeys!

As many of our members are starting to hit the road this summer after over a year at home, it’s important to notify Heritage Family Credit Union of your travel plans. Whether you are heading out for a long weekend, or taking an extended stay at your favorite getaway spot, we want to make sure your trip is as relaxing as possible. If you are traveling and are planning to use your HFCU ATM/debit or VISA card, please let us know prior to your departure. You can set travel alerts right through eBranch, by contacting our call center at 888.252.8932, or by stopping into your local branch.

Your financial security is our number one priority. If we notice any transaction that does not fit in with your normal spending habits, a credit union representative may be in contact with you. In some cases, transactions may even be declined. Keeping us informed of your travel arrangements can help to prevent these inconveniences.

Please remember that even while you are hundreds of miles away from your local HFCU branch, we’ll have you covered with Co-Op Shared Branching!

There are over 5,000 credit union locations nationwide where you can access your HFCU Account. Participating Co-Op shared branches allow you to make deposits, withdrawals, consumer loan payments, transfers between accounts, print statements, and more - in the lobby of their branch with no fee.

Look for the Co-Op shared branching logo, and make sure you have your credit union name, account number, photo identification and your social security number. To find a Co-Op location in the U.S., visit and search for the town or zip code.

Image of HFCU Emerald VISA CardFraud Alerts Coming for Emerald VISA Credit Cards

As credit card fraud becomes more and more frequent, we are pleased to announce that our Emerald VISA Credit Cards will soon be equipped with fraud alerts to protect your accounts. All HFCU VISA cardholders will automatically be enrolled in these alerts.

If fraud is suspected on a member account, the primary cardholder on the account will receive a text message. If the member does not respond to that text in a timely fashion, he or she will then receive a mobile phone call, a call to a home phone on file, and/or an email. If there is no response to any of these messages within a 2-hour period, that Emerald VISA card will be locked until the member contacts HFCU. We are committed to protecting our members and these alerts will help to keep all VISA cardholders more secure.
