An Update from President/CEO Matt Levandowski

Friday, May 22, 2020

It’s been 9 weeks since the Governor declared a Stay-at-Home order in Vermont and our lobbies have been closed to members. On behalf of myself and the entire staff at Heritage Family Credit Union, I would like to say we have missed seeing you and are excited to get back to serving you once again. The lobbies will be open for business beginning this Tuesday morning, May 26, 2020!

All branch lobbies (except for the Hooksett, NH lobby) and drive-thrus will be open during regular operating hours. However, there will be mandated restrictions and changes to our daily procedures, in order to help keep members and staff safe. I’d like to take a moment to share what you can expect:

• Each branch will have a maximum number of people allowed in the lobby, which includes both staff and members. You will notice a sign on the entry indicating that location’s capacity. Upon entering the branch, you will see floor stickers placed to keep you physically distant from others. Please do not enter a branch if there are no empty floor stickers available.

• All teller lines and offices have been fitted with plexiglass face shields. Our staff will all be wearing masks and we request that everyone wear a mask while in the branch for the protection of you and our staff. If you are uncomfortable wearing a mask for any reason, we ask that you plan to utilize the drive-thru for services.

• Unfortunately, we cannot allow for congregating in the lobbies. So, if you need to meet with one of my staff, it will be important for you to make an appointment and stay in your car until your appointment time. At the outset, we will have reduced staffing at most locations to assist us in physical distancing. This may increase wait times at the teller line or when meeting with a Financial Services Representative.

• We have increased the cleaning schedule in all of our buildings. Public spaces will be cleaned several times a day and frequently touched surfaces after every use. At this time, we are unable to offer coffee service, coin machines, lobby tech stations or public restrooms.

• As I’ve said numerous times, we strongly encourage you to utilize online services and e-sign any necessary documents, so you can take care of business from home! If you must visit a branch, we ask you to please limit the number of family members and refrain from bringing children, if possible.

•  Lastly, if you are experiencing any signs of illness or caring for someone who is sick, please stay home and do not enter our buildings. Also, if you’ve travelled out of state, ensure you’ve observed a self-quarantine of at least 14 days with no symptoms, before visiting a branch.

Thank you for your patience during these challenging times and thank you in advance for your assistance in following these guidelines as we open our lobbies to the general public. We are all experiencing a new normal and my staff and I are doing everything we can to get back to resume full operations. We continue to be here to serve you and your family’s financial needs. If you have questions or if there is anything we can do to assist you, contact us at 888.252.8932.

We look forward to seeing you soon!

Be well,

A Special Notice from President/CEO Matt Levandowski Regarding Your Money

Tuesday, March 17, 2020

During this time of uncertainty, some of our members are experiencing anxiety and fear regarding their finances. This anxiety can cause behaviors that are out of the ordinary, as well as rumors and misinformation to spread. I want to help you better understand what to do in making smart financial decisions today and in the weeks to come.

Let me state that Heritage Family Credit Union is not closing to our members. You will have full access to your accounts and your money. Each one of your accounts continues to be federally insured for up to $250,000 by the National Credit Union Administration.

Your money is safer here at the credit union than it is anywhere else, so we discourage you from withdrawing large amounts of money from your accounts when you visit a branch. Carrying large sums of money on your person, in your vehicle or keeping it at your home will encourage criminal activity and we do not want you to become victimized. The safest place to keep your money is with your trusted financial institution. In addition, as evidenced by the past financial crisis, a run on cash creates instability in our economic marketplace and can make a downturn last longer than necessary. Your debit and credit cards are the best way to make purchases at this time. If you should need cash for everyday purchases, the ATMs are available for withdrawals and deposits.

We also encourage you to take full advantage of the digital services available to manage your accounts including eBranch, Smart Deposit, Bill Pay and the mobile app for your smartphone. Please take advantage of our online loan application, if you find yourself in need of additional funds. If you have any questions about how to enroll or use these services, don’t hesitate to contact our call center during normal business hours at 888.252.8932.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. Heritage Family Credit Union is your credit union, and we are here to help you and your family get through this!

Sincerely,
Matt Levandowski
President/CEO
