President's Message

Over the past several months, both our country and our Credit Union have seen many unprecedented changes. During that time, I am proud to say that my staff worked tirelessly to assist you, our members.

• Our Call Center team has been onsite the entire time handling over 56,000 calls in the last 3 months and assisting members with transactions, hardship loans and everything in between.

  • • The Business Department assisted 330 business members with the SBA’s Payroll Protection Program, with over $16 million in loans processed to help keep our small businesses open and their employees at work.

  • • Over 2,300 consumer loans and 134 mortgage loans were deferred until members can get back on their feet.
  •  
  • • And as you know, both our drive thrus and eBranch saw record transaction volumes.

All of our branches are now open, however, life is not back to “normal.”  We continue to closely follow national and state health officials’ guidelines, including the requirement of all people within our branches to wear masks and social distance. We have added hand sanitizing stations, as well as, more frequent cleaning protocols to keep you and our staff safe. We encourage you to continue to utilize e-services, apply for loans online and avoid unnecessary trips to the branches.
 
Businesses around our country may be forever changed due to the effects of COVID-19, including your very own Heritage Family Credit Union. We continue to have staff working remotely and will be investing in technological enhancements to assist our members to conduct business remotely.   
 
We appreciate your continued support and understanding as we all navigate these uncertain times, and thank you for your membership at Heritage Family Credit Union. We are here to support you and your family’s financial needs today and into the future.

Debit Card Controls Image on Laptop and SmartphoneNew Debit Card Controls Available in eBranch

You now have the ability to add real-time security and settings to debit cards within HFCU eBranch.

 

Debit cardholders can activate each card with one click. If you misplace your debit card, you can lock it until you find it again! 

 

Members also have the ability to control card usage and restrict transactions in instances such as online or over the phone.

 

Alerts are available to help you keep track of the transactions made with your card and extra controls are available to ensure you stay within your budget!

Graduation Cap with HFCU LogoHFCU Scholarship Winners 2020

Heritage Family Credit Union is pleased to announce the recipients of the Heritage Family Credit Union 2020 Scholarships. This year’s recipients are Aryn Iannuzzi of Burr & Burton Academy, Haley Lassen from Rutland High School, Kati Bashaw from Otter Valley Union High School and Austin May from Stafford Technical Center.

 

These students proved themselves to be a exemplary members of the student body and demonstrated leadership qualities within their school and community. The scholarship awards them $1,000 each to help them pursue further education in an accredited undergraduate program at a college, trade school or university. Congratulations!

 

Google Authenticator Adds Additional Security to eBranch

 

As an effort to further protect our members from fraud, we have recently enabled new security options in eBranch.

Traditional two-factor authentication can present security problems, particularly if a member's email account is compromised as part of fraudulent activity.

To provide stronger security than email or text messaging, Heritage Family Credit Union is now offering Google Authenticator for verification codes. Google Authenticator is an app that constantly generates a new verification code for you every 30 seconds.

How to set up and use Google Authenticator:

• Log into your eBranch account.

• Navigate to the personal menu (by selecting your image or initials)

• Select “Security” from the drop down menu.

• Next, select the “Two Factor Authentication” tab.

• Follow the set up instructions on the lower half of the page to enable Google Authenticator. This will include downloading the Google Authenticator app from the Google Play or Apple App Store.

After you're set up, you will be able to receive a code via Google Authenticator or from the HFCU call center, and you will no longer receive options for text or email.

Among the many measures that have been put into place to help us stay healthy and safe, contactless payments have recently increased in popularity. Not only do contactless and digital payments require less physical contact than cash, but they use authentication and data encryption to keep your personal information secure.

 

All of our HFCU Debit and Emerald VISA® cards are equipped for contactless payments. Tap your card wherever you see the contactless payment logo.

 

You can also add your HFCU cards to the mobile wallet on your smartphone for additional convenience through Apple Pay, Google Pay or Samsung Pay.

2.  Log in to your eBranch using the same login and password
 

3.  Within the HFCU eBranch app, select "Make a Deposit"
 

4.  Select your "to account"
 

5.  Take pictures of the front and back of the check
 

6.  Click "deposit check"
