Card Control Set-up

Follow the step-by-step processes below to register your Emerald Visa® Credit Card or HFCU Debit Card in eBranch to add real-time security & settings.

  • From the dashboard, select the credit card in the account listing.
  • Then, choose Details & Settings. 
  • Once you receive a new card, activate it by clicking the "Activate" button in the "Details & Settings" tab. To access card controls for existing cards, click that card profile from the list.
  • To turn on card controls and alerts, this button will say "Register." After registering, it will say, "Unregister."
  • Credit card alerts are located with the remainder of the alerts. Once registered for card controls, you can adjust your alerts here. 
  • You can then set alerts as needed. Credit card alerts will default to your mobile number.
  • Please note these steps can be followed from your smartphone or tablet using the HFCU eBranch mobile app.
  • From the dashboard, select your share draft checking in the account listing.
  • Then, choose Details & Settings. 
  • Once you receive a new card, activate it by clicking the "Activate" button in the "Details & Settings" tab. To access card controls for existing cards, click that card profile from the list.
  • To turn on card controls and alerts, this button will say "Register." After registering, it will say, "Unregister."
  • Debit card alerts are located with the remainder of the alerts. Once registered for card controls, you can adjust your alerts here. 
  • You can then set alerts as needed. Debit card alerts will default to your mobile number.
  • Please note these steps can be followed from your smartphone or tablet using the HFCU eBranch mobile app.

Add a sub-user for the joint member on your account.

  • From the Dashboard or eBranch, open the "Manage Users" tab.
  • Select "+ Add a New User."
  • You will be prompted to send and enter a security validation code for security purposes.
  • Fill in the information for the member – including First and Last Name, address, email, and phone numbers. You will also need to create a unique username for them at this step.
  • Review the permissions on the following screen to review what they will have access to.
  • Confirm the user.
  • The sub-user will receive a temporary password that they will use to log in for the first time. They will be prompted to set a new password at their first login.
  • You can review your sub-users and their permissions anytime by visiting the "Manage Users" tab.

  1. After logging into eBranch, navigate to "Make a Transfer." 
  2. Select the "Add External Account" link. A red circle around the words Add External Account
  3. Read and accept the External Account Service Agreement.
  4. Select the best connection option for you - "Instant Account Verification" or "Manual Account Input."
  5. For "Instant Account Verification," you must know your online banking credentials for the other institution you are connecting to.
  6. For "Manual Account Input," you must manually input the account and routing numbers for your account. The verification process can take between 2-5 business days. You will receive "trial deposits" in your other account and need to return to eBranch to verify the amounts before sending or receiving funds with the linked account. Adding an external account to eBranch either by instant connection or manually input

To be eligible to add an external account in eBranch, you must be a member in good standing. A member in good standing is one with no delinquencies on loans or negative balances on primary accounts. Fresh Start Members are not eligible for this service.
