PRIVACY POLICY
It is the policy of the credit union to
protect the privacy of its members, without unduly inhibiting the free flow of
commerce or legitimate law enforcement activities.
Disclosure
of Financial Records Prohibited
The credit union, its officers, employees,
and directors shall not disclose to any person, any financial information
relating to a member.
Exceptions
There are exceptions regarding the
confidentiality of member information, and the credit union does not prohibit
any activities listed below:
1. Disclosure of information to the member
after proper identification
2. Disclosure authorized by the member,
provided the disclosure is limited to the scope and purpose that the member
authorizes.
3. The preparation, examination or
maintenance of financial records by any officer or employee of the credit
union, in association with one's duties.
4. Disclosure of information sought by the
office of child support services, department of social welfare, student
assistance or an agency of similar function of another state, pursuant to its
authority.
5. The examination of financial records by a
certified public accountant or regulatory agency while engaged by the credit
union to perform an independent audit or examination.
6. The making of reports, disclosures, or
returns required or permitted by federal or state law.
7. The exchange of information between the
credit union and a credit-reporting agency provided such an exchange is in
compliance with federal and state Fair Credit Reporting Acts.
8. The exchange of loan information that
specifically affects a sale, foreclosure or loan closing, provided such
exchange is for the purpose of accomplishing such sale, foreclosure or loan
closing.
9. The disclosure to civil or criminal law
enforcement authorities for use in suspected criminal activities.
10. Disclosures requested pursuant to
subpoena, summons, or court order.
11. Disclosure of member financial
information among directors, officers, employees of the credit union, provided
that such disclosure is limited to information necessary to fulfill any such
persons duties.
12. Disclosure of
information to a collection agency or any person engaged by the credit union to
assist in recovering an amount owed by a member.
13. The publication of information derived
from financial records if the information cannot be identified to any
particular member, deposit or account.
14. The disclosure of information permitted
to be disclosed under the laws governing dishonor of negotiable instruments.

It is the intent of this policy to be compliant
with Federal and Vermont State Statutes.
